***Black Americana: Vogue Black***

source: vogue black
"Island in the Sun, a first installment in the ground-breaking series Black Americana re-introduces, and reclaims the image – the representation of free Black women and men living their lives openly and beautifully. Shot by Rod Gailes OBC at New York's Fort Tilden beach, Island in the Sun seeks to offer a broader lens of Black American life not often seen – a restoration of Black bodies on a summer day in 1950’s America coupled by stunning photography with a clarity reminiscent of early Life magazine." - Vogue.it

***Jason Wu for Target***

source: fashionspot

I usually HATE with a white hot passion designer collections for Target (or any one off collection purely created to provide mass hysteria to fashion lapdogs) but Jason Wu's target collection is well thought out, feminine, and just plain pretty. I personally like row 1 and 2 the best.

**Jason Wu Resort: Video**

source: Jason Wu Resort 2011 , Topshop

Fashion videos are a bit of a conundrum to me. On one hand they are a living breathing expression of designers work on the other hand they teeter on pretentious "arty" movies with no real weight or concept to them. Many are gorgeous but are they necessary?

I posted two I like for their visual appeal

Top Shop S/S 2012

source: tfs
This line was a bit schizophrenic, imo. Not necessarily in a negative way -- as this is a retail store first not an obscure designer looking to please one niche group. I appreciated the playfulness and commitment to serving the permanently style conscious consumer. Trendseekers will flock to this collection and I'm sure I will get a few pieces myself.
